- Three German soldiers wait by the railroad tracks next to the prison camp at Wahn for the mail to arrive. One can see the prison compound and barracks across the tracks, behind the barbed-wire fence. The train that brings supplies to the camp also carries the facility's mail and parcels.

- Aerial view of the prison camp at Ruhleben which housed British and Commonwealth interned civilians during World War I. This drawing shows the race track, grand stands, barracks, casino, tea house, New Town, guard room, gates, and hospital which made up the buildings of the prison camp. The Association constructed a YMCA hall on the open ground between Barracks II and XI.

- A panoramic view of the prison camp at Meschede, probably taken in the Spring or Summer of 1915. The quarantine camp where newly arrived POWs were housed is located to the lower left. At the bottom of the photograph is the railway line that transported prisoners and supplies to the prison camp.

- This cartoon, drawn by a British internee at the prison camp at Ruhleben, describes the long awaited day of the end of the war and repatriation. Some of the internees will march out of camp under a banner, others will stack their belongings on a cart, while most prisoners will scramble to gather some of their belongings and escape the confines of the camp for the waiting trains. Note the YMCA hall in the background of the drawing.

- French prisoners sing a song outdoors in the prison compound in Zossen under the direction of a choir director. German NCO's and officers stand in the background next to the barrack. The choir leader has set up his stand on top of a narrow gauge railway line. Due to the size of the camp, the Germans used a small railway line system to transport supplies to the camp.

- This photograph provides an excellent view of the prison camp in Meschede during the Winter of 1914-1915. The railroad station where arriving prisoners disembarked can be seen in the foreground of the photograph. To the left is the infirmary, where new arrivals were disinfected and kept in quarantine to prevent the spread of any infectious diseases and where sick prisoners were isolated to prevent further contamination. After passing a medical inspection, POW's then moved to the main camp in the center of the picture. Prison camps took on the dimensions of towns and even small cities during the course of the war.
