- This cartoon, drawn by a British internee at the prison camp at Ruhleben, describes the long awaited day of the end of the war and repatriation. Some of the internees will march out of camp under a banner, others will stack their belongings on a cart, while most prisoners will scramble to gather some of their belongings and escape the confines of the camp for the waiting trains. Note the YMCA hall in the background of the drawing.

- This drawing shows an internee, clad in bathrobe and sandals, holding a pot of hot cocoa in the prison camp compound at Ruhleben. Incarceration oftehn encouraged the development of interesting characters inside prison camps. Behind him is a long line of prisoners, waiting to receive hot water from the camp canteen. There were two large boilers inside the building, which provided the prisoners with hot water to make tea or cocoa.

- A swarm of British civilians climb aboard a train with their belongings which will transport them from the prison camp at Ruhleben to the Dutch frontier. In the Netherlands, the former internees took a ferry home to England.

- The YMCA Physical Culture Association presented an "Assault at Arms" performance in the prison camp in Ruhleben. This program included a punching bag demonstration and a number of wrestling, fencing, and boxing matches. These activities kept internees in shape and provided entertainment for the camp population.

- A German sentry, depicted by his shadow in the snow, intercepts two British internees attempting to scale the fence at the prison camp at Ruhleben. One prisoner, still carrying his satchel, hangs helplessly from the top of a post, while the other sits in the snow.

- This cartoon is from "The Ruhleben Camp Magazine," Christmas 1916 edition, showing "Sunny Jim" being intercepted by a German sentry as the latter scales the wall. The prison camp at Ruhleben was surrounded by a high wooden fence.

- The British internees at Ruhleben designed this Christmas card, depicting a jack of clubs, complete with a set of golf clubs. The prisoners' Christmas cards attempted to inject a bit of humor during a time of year when prisoners were especially home sick.
