- Mae-Marie Irons talks about the Women's Overseas Service League's 52nd Annual Convention held at the Sheraton-Palace Hotel in San Francisco from July 15 to July 19, 1972. She provides a short description of the proceedings based upon her own recollections and from a news story published in the San Francisco Chronicle on July 17. Irons also reads a July 19, 1972 Chronicle story featuring quotes from WOSL member Mary Cutter as she recalls her senior year at Stanford University in 1904, helping survivors of the 1906 earthquake, volunteering for duty in France during World War One, and finally receiving recognition for her 1906 service from the City of San Francisco. Recording opens and closes with music from World War One.

- Janet A. Bachmeyer talks about her thirty-year career in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from July 1944 to June 1974. Bachmeyer says she received her nurse's training at the Evangelical School of Nursing in Chicago and worked her way up the ranks in the military from staff nurse to chief nurse before she retired. She talks about her duty stations in Europe during World War II and others in postwar Germany, Korea and in Vietnam. Bachmeyer describes post housing, her uniforms, and her vivid memories of being in London on V-E Day and celebrating all night. Bachmeyer says that she hadn't intended to make the military a career but decided it was right for her after leaving active service for a couple of years. Bachmeyer also talks about her activities in retirement and her feelings about the WOSL. Bachmeyer is interviewed by Marjorie Brown.

- Dorothy M. Harrison describes the efforts of the Louisville Unit of the Women's Overseas Service League to collect and persevere the histories of its members and then talks about the life of Mildred Stutzenberger who served in the American Red Cross during World War II. Reading from local documents and an interview with Stutzenberger, Harrison talks about Stutzenberger first working in hospitals in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations and then transferring to club work at the Bengal Air Depot in India. According to Harrison, Stutzenberger also served in Guam and Saipan and with the occupation forces in Japan. Harrison also recounts Stutzenberger's retirement and later death from lung cancer.

- Description:
- Gertrude Murphy of the Women's Overseas Service League's Santa Clara County Unit discusses a headline in the San Francisco Daily Journal which led to a libel suit against the paper. She said that the headline had declared that the Musicians Union had insulted the Women's Overseas Service League, that the union denied the claim and subsequently filed suit against the paper. She says that she worked for the Daily Journal at the time and that the lawyer for the Musician's Union actually came by her office to fish for information, but that the suit was finally dropped. Recorded during the 1975 area conference held in San Francisco, CA. Mae-Marie Irons narrates.

- Dorothy M. Harrison describes the efforts of the Louisville Unit of the Women's Overseas Service League to collect oral histories and then talks about the life of Sara Landau who served in the American Red Cross as an unpaid volunteer during World War One. Harrison reads from an interview Landau gave in which she talks about answering telephones and carrying messages in Paris and working in a hospital in Vannes writing letters for the wounded and running a library, and a game room. Landau also describes a visit to the hospital by General Pershing and how she felt on Armistice Day in November 1918.

- Patricia Young Berri talks about returning to the United States in March 1945 near the end of her service in the American Red Cross during World War Two. She talks about working in Houston as a civilian, being approached to rejoin the Red Cross and what the Women's Overseas Service League has meant to her. Berri is interviewed by Marjorie Brown.

Harrison reads from an article in Louisville Magazine about White entering the the family printing business, her education, her service in France and her work with the Near East Foundation teaching children. Harrison also reads from a letter White wrote to the Louisville Unit about her service in the war and in Turkey and in Greece and Iraq with her husband for the Near East Foundation.

- Ione McCormick talks about her nine years of reserve and active duty service in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in the Philippines and at the Presidio in San Francisco and says she was motivated by patriotism to enlist. McCormick says that she was nurse at the Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital prior to enlisting and was first assigned to Central Supply at the 313th General Hospital in Manila. She talks about her pay, common duties for women, her quarters, and her uniform. She says she returned to being a civilian nurse after she her discharge, joined the Women's Overseas Service League in 1976 and that she is currently vice president of her unit.

- Edna Scott talks about her service with the American Red Cross in France in 1918 and 1919. Scott says that she joined the Red Cross in 1918 as a nurse's aide, but soon became a canteen worker and also spent time visiting the injured and sick in hospital. Scott says she has been a member of the Red Cross for over sixty years and helped found the WOSL unit in Kansas City in 1921. She talks about her uniform, puts on her service cap for the interviewers and says that she would do it all over again if she had the chance. Scott is interviewed by Evelyn McHiggins with Jane Piatt and Geneva K. Wiskemann.

- Rita Geis talks about her thirty year career in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps beginning just before the U.S. entry into World War Two and continuing through the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Geis recalls deploying with the 106th General Hospital to Japan in 1965 to treat casualties coming in from the battlefields in Vietnam. She says that the hospital was full of injured U.S. soldiers during the brutal Tet Offensive of 1968. Geis also talks about some of her retirement activities including being Commander of Women's Metropolitan Post 206 in Denver, the only women's post in Colorado, as well as being active in the Women's Overseas Service League. Geis is interviewed by Marjorie Brown.
