- At Washtenaw Street West, looking north. J. W. Knapp's operations expanded into buildings on South Capitol from its original location on West Washtenaw and South Washington. Also seen north of West Washtenaw are the Masonic Temple and, north of West Allegan, the Michigan National Bank Tower.

- Description:
- The Masonic lodge located at 213 South Capitol Avenue. It was built in 1905, and in 1927 a new building was built next to it for the Masons. It was later known as the Veterans Memorial building and was torn down in the 1950s. Decorations on the building were likely for one of the annual Conclaves of Knights Templar (a Masonic order) that met in Lansing. Two copies.

- Description:
- Landscaping used to breakup the hard surfaces and form the area for parking spaces. The view looks northwest toward the southern end of the west side of the 200 block of Washington Square South. At the corner, at 234 Washington Square South was Touch of Class art and craft store. Next, Kimmel's greeting cards at 228, Fanny Farmer candy at 226 and the Vogue clothing at 224. Behind the stores can be seen the Michigan National Bank parking ramp; the ramp was later demolished due to damage from salt-caused corrosion. To the right of the ramp, or north, is the rear of the Masonic Temple that faces on South Capitol Avenue. The photo is printed on photographer's proofing paper intended for short term use only and has cropping marks and other annotations.
