- Western Knitting Mills dormitory, here referred to as Chapman's Boarding House, on the south side of the factory. At some point, two additional dormitories were constructed on Water Street alongside this original dormitory. All three have since been demolished. The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie. In 1994 the Rochester Mills Beer Company restored the building and it now operates as a restaurant and brewery. (BL-56) Bob Lytle Collection
