In the plaza, directly above the roof of the Capitol, is the multi-part sculpture named "This Equals That" by Michael Heizer; built 1976-1980 and removed in 2004. West Michigan Avenue resumes beyond the complex.

On the right is the 14-story Lansing Towers apartment building, also on West Ottawa. Also seen are several homes, many of which have been converted to commercial offices.
