- A group of Russian and Romanian prisoners converse with Italian POW's at the barbed-wire fence in the prison camp at Hajmaskar. The one-story wooden barrack stands on top of a small hill behind the Russian and Romanian prisoners served as the commandant's office.

- This photograph provides a view of the camp perimeter and barbed-wire fence as well as the commandant's office (to the left) and POW barracks in the prison camp at Dunaszerdahley. Note the low fence and white line that runs parallel to the fence which is no man's land for POW's. Assuming that prisoners in this area were attempting to escape, guards had orders to shoot any prisoners that ventured into this forbidden area.

- Russian prisoners gather around the prison compound at Wieselburg in the snow for Christmas celebrations in January 1918. An Austrian officer stands in the center of the compound with a decorated Christmas tree in the background.

- Russian prisoners work in the Records Office in the prison camp at Purgstall. While some of the POW's are working, one is warming water on the wood stove, another is drinking a cup of tea, and one appears to be dealing with an itch in his boot with a stick. The Records Office was an important part of the general administration of a prison camp.

- A Hungarian sentry stands guard at the entrance to the prison camp at Huszt in 1918. The barbed-wire fence enclosing the prison compound does not appear to be in the best of condition. Some of the camp's barracks and some incarcerated Polish Legionnaires stand in the background.

- Interned Polish Legionnaires tend to their uniforms in the prison compound at Huszt on a sunny day in 1918. The security fence is not in good shape but the prisoners do not appear to be tempted to escape.
