- This cartoon, drawn by a British internee at the prison camp at Ruhleben, describes the long awaited day of the end of the war and repatriation. Some of the internees will march out of camp under a banner, others will stack their belongings on a cart, while most prisoners will scramble to gather some of their belongings and escape the confines of the camp for the waiting trains. Note the YMCA hall in the background of the drawing.

- A German sentry, depicted by his shadow in the snow, intercepts two British internees attempting to scale the fence at the prison camp at Ruhleben. One prisoner, still carrying his satchel, hangs helplessly from the top of a post, while the other sits in the snow.

- British interrnees could participate in a full orchestra in the prison camp at Ruhleben. Among the prisoners there were a number of accomplished musicians and composers. Concerts provided by the orchestra provided the camp population with a diversion from their problems and homesickness.

- British civilian internees participated in competitions to improve the appearance of the camp by cultivating gardens. This garden is outside of Barrack 5 at the prison camp at Ruhleben.

- Interned British civilians line up to receive their packages at the Parcel Post Office at Ruhleben. The smiles on the faces of the men reflect their eagerness to obtain their parcels.

- An enterprising businessman at Ruhleben set up this engraving service in a booth and offered free designs to customers. Tradesmen often found their expertise in great demand in prison camps.

- Two internees square off in the ring during a boxing match outside one of the barracks at Ruhleben. The event has drawn a respectable crowd in to view the bout. Laundry hangs from lines from the barracks as internees take advantage of the good weather to dry their clothing.
