- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. - Landscaping used to breakup the hard surfaces and form the area for parking spaces. The view looks northwest toward the southern end of the west side of the 200 block of Washington Square South. At the corner, at 234 Washington Square South was Touch of Class art and craft store. Next, Kimmel's greeting cards at 228, Fanny Farmer candy at 226 and the Vogue clothing at 224. Behind the stores can be seen the Michigan National Bank parking ramp; the ramp was later demolished due to damage from salt-caused corrosion. To the right of the ramp, or north, is the rear of the Masonic Temple that faces on South Capitol Avenue. The photo is printed on photographer's proofing paper intended for short term use only and has cropping marks and other annotations.
