South of East Washtenaw Street is seen Shaw's Jewelers at 301 South Washington Avenue. The north side of East Washtenaw is also seen in the background: Ellison Book Shop at 101, Pacific Finance Loans at 107, American Laundry at 111 and Hal Clark tailor at 121 East Washtenaw Street. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo incorrectly (it is actually East Washtenaw below the writing, "West Washtenaw"). The photo was also trimmed for display.

Stores along the block include: Porter's women's clothing at 105, Liebermann Trunk Company at 107, Lansing Camera Shop at 109, Len's Mens Shop and Parker Jewelry at 111, Mills Dry Goods at 113, Two Legs mens clothing at 115, Dr Scholl Foot Comfort Shop and National Peanut Corp. at 117, a vacancy-formerly Roberts Jewelry at 119, Morgan Jewelry at 121, and Rouser Drugs at 123 completes the block.
