- Mounted black and white panoramic image of the fire tug JAMES BATTLE being used to fight the fire which claimed the Belle Isle Bridge on April 27, 1915, created from two overlapping photos. Firefighters stand at the bow of the BATTLE, on the right side of the frame with its port side to the camera and the Detroit shore of the Detroit River, while smoke rises from the remaining trusses of the bridge on the right. Several bare columns, and another smoldering truss are visible further across the river in the background. The caption, "Burning of the Belle Isle Bridge, April 27, 1915," is printed along the bottom of the mat board.

- Black and white copy of a photograph on photographic paper depicting the Detroit Tribune Building at 42 Larned Street, following the fire there on April, 13, 1873. Its roof and a portion of the wall along the two upper floors are destroyed. Several beams are propped up to support its walls from the roof of the adjacent Livery, where several people stand. Another group of people is gathered outside the door of the Livery. Signs are posted for the Office of the Commercial Advertiser and the William Johns Jr. Law Office. To the left of the Tribune is the Tontine Coffee House. McGonegal's Wood Yard is in the foreground on the opposite side of the street from the Tribune. A church steeple, identified as that of St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church on the photo's verso, rises behind the ruins of the Tribune Building.

Fire hoses are still spraying the building's entrance and one of its windows on the its Griswold face. Icicles hang from the building's facade, and rubble has settled around its base. A group of people, primarily children, are in the intersection in the foreground. Several of them look toward the camera. A fire engine, and the cloud of smoke coming from it are visible down State Street on the left. The steam cloud of another rises over the intersection of Griswold and Grand River Avenue in the background on the right. The photo is mounted on beige cardstock. "From Alvord & Co. - Mounted sepia-toned photograph taken of a fire engine and a hose apparatus in the intersection of Grand River Avenue, Griswold Street, and Rowland Street (now Shelby Street), behind the ruins of Capitol High School following its fire on January 27, 1893, facing the south. A crowd of spectators have gathered around the steam engine from which a cloud of smoke rises. Firefighers are using hoses to spray both the eastern face of the building along Griswold, and the western one along Shelby in the background. Snow covers the ground, and ice coats the eastern face of the school. Signs for Howard's Sandwichs and Coffee, the Siau Laundering Company, and the Chamber of Commerce are visible along Shelby on the right. The photo is mounted on beige cardstock. "From Alvord & Co. - Monochromatic glass plate negative taken of the remains of the original Belle Isle Bridge after it burned on April 27, 1915, as viewed from Belle Isle to the west of the bridge, facing the mainland. Four of the bridges piers are visible along the river, no longer bearing the bridge. Closer to the shore, part of one of the spans has collapsed into the water. In the background, along the riverfront, the roller coasters and pavilions of Electric Park, are visible, as is the Philip Kling Brewing Company, and a sign for Stegmeyer's ferry.

- Mounted sepia-toned photograph of a memorial display for Captain Richard Filban of the Detroit Fire Department's Hook and Ladder Company No. 3, who died in the line of duty at the D.M. Ferry and Company Seed Warehouse fire on January 1, 1886. A framed head-and-shoulders portrait photo of Filban in uniform is surrounded by a floral display. Wreaths, crosses, doves, ladders, axes, and hooks are among the motifs represented in the display. Several messages are also spelled out in flowers, "faithful unto death," "A.O.H.," "G.R.F.D.," "Capt. R.F.," "Last Call Box 16," and "Last Call Dick." The photograph is mounted on a paper backing with "Capt. Richard Filban, H. & L. Company No. 3, D.F.D., Died Jan. 1, 1886," printed below. That backing is additionally mounted on a linen backing.
