- Sepia-toned photograph of Hazen S. Pingree's headquarters at the Vincent House Palor in Saginaw, Michigan during his 1896 campaign for governor. A label is that reads, "Pingree Headquarters Vincent House Parlor and Room 14," is printed above the entrance to the building. Four rows of men dressed almost identically in boater hats and long coats stand in front of the building with many other men on the street and sidewalk behind them. A sign amongst the men in the background has a picture of Pingree with the words, "Detroit's Fearless Mayor." Men can also be seen in all of the windows of the building. An electric trolley in the bottom left corner, labeled B.P.M Depot and South Saginaw has sign hanging on it that read, "The Convention at J.R. Reitter [...]." "Photograph by A. Bower 4222 Franklin St. Saginaw, E. Side Michigan," is handwritten on the verso.

Your letter which I have just received after an absence of two weeks, has reminded me, that I have not heard from hers, and so I write to ask. Yours very truly Th: Nast."

- Invitation note and envelope from Governor Hazen S. Pingree to the Michigan Legislature for a complimentary dinner on December 18, 1900 in the Executive Parlor of the Capitol. The note includes Pingree's signature and an orange embossed Michigan seal with a blue ribbon. The envelope is embossed with the mark of Wright, Kay, and Company.

- Certificate of election certifying Hazen S. Pingree's election as Governor of Michigan in 1898. It is affixed with the gold seal of the State of Michigan and red, white, and blue ribbon on the bottom left. The text of the certificate is as follows: "State of Michigan Certificate of Election We the undersigned, State Canvassers, from a careful examination of the Election Returns from all the Counties in the State of Michigan, as received by the Secretary of State do determine, as the result of our investigation, that Hazen S. Pingree has been, by the greatest number of votes, duly elected to the office of Governor of said State for the full term of Two Years from the first day of January, A.D. eighteen hundred and ninety-nine at the General Election holden on the eighth day of November A.D. 1898. Witness our Hands, at Lansing, this fifteenth day of December A.D. 1898. Washington Gardner Secretary of State Geo. A. Steel State Treasurer. Wm. A. French Com'r State Land Office. State of Michigan Office of the Secretary of State. I do hereby Certify, That I have compared the foregoing copy of the determination of the Board of State Canvassers with the original on file in this office, and that it is a correct transcript therefrom, and of the whole of such original. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the Great Seal of the State of Michigan, at Lansing, this sixteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eighth. "Nearly a fourth of all children in the schools of Michigan discovered last week that no bell tolled for them be cause teachers in 35 districts refused to work without a contract, aware that a state law bans teacher strikes, both the Michigan Education Association, an affiliate of the N.E.A., and the A.F.L.C.I.O. Michigan Federation of Teachers insist that their members were simply "withholding services," the worst of these nonstrikes closed all classes in the 300,000-student Detroit system, there, Mrs. Mary Ellen Riordan, an old-style, fiery unionist who is president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers, led her 6,400 members in a fight for a $1,200 pay hike and a two-week cut in the 40-week school year, the city, which pays teachers from $5,800 to $10,000, offered $600 and a one-week school-year reduction. Governor George Romney ruled out any increase in state funds to boost salaries and insisted it was "intolerable that the education of children should be used as a pawn in negotiations,"" from a Time magazine article dated Friday, Sep. 15, 1967.

- Portrait of Alex Groesbeck (Governor of Michigan from 1921–1927) taking the oath of Governor in large room among a group of men. "After establishing a legal practice in Detroit, Groesbeck entered into politics. He served as the attorney general of Michigan from 1916 to 1921. Groesbeck next secured the Republican gubernatorial nomination, and was elected governor by a popular vote on November 2, 1920. He was reelected to a second term in 1922, and to a third term in 1924. During his tenure, the state's highway system was advanced; prison reform measures were sanctioned; an automobile title system was created; and state government was restructured and consolidated," from the National Governors Association website.
