- Concrete, brick, and other progress on the new Lansing Fire Department Station No. 1. Temporary construction sheds have been erected in the front of the site. The view is from the opposite side of Grand street, looking to the northwest. A fragment of a similar photograph has also been printed on the back cover of the booklet "Lansing Fire Department: Dedicated to the Saving of Life and Property" which was published in approximately 1950. The brochure credits George Beak, Communications Division, and Frank Mainville, Press Photographer, for the photographs in the booklet.

- A view from behind the crowd during the dedication ceremony in front of the new Lansing Fire Department Station No. 1. A marching band is in formation in two sections on Shiawasee and Grand streets. Opposite of the new station, the Paul Fata grocery, the Central Linen and Laundry, another office of the Auto-Owners Insurance Co., and several other businesses can be seen. The view is taken from the west side of Grand Avenue looking to the northeast. Similar photographs appear in the booklet "Lansing Fire Department: Dedicated to the Saving of Life and Property" which was published in approximately 1950. - Description:
- The Arbeiter Unterstutzung Verein (Worker Support Club) Hall located at 608 North Grand Avenue. The society was organized in 1875 and built its first hall in 1882; at one time it had over 500 members. The building in this photograph was dedicated in 1905. The gardens in back were the location for many social events. The society was closed out in 1931 due to lack of younger membership, at the time the last of the viable Michigan Arbeiter societies. It was an insurance organization that provided illness and death benefits, mainly for members of Lansing's German-American community, and also a social organization.
