- Michigan State University Packaging Professor Diana Twede delivers a talk entitled, "Shaking our mode of living to its very roots: workers, consumers and the packaging industrial revolution." Twede reflects on the history of packaging, the changes in packaging technology, and what these changes have meant to consumers, workers, and the quality and preservation of food. She also describes the benefits and social consequences which have come from the revolution in modern packaging. Twede is introduced by Professor John P. Beck, Associate Director, Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Part of the "Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives" Brown Bag series co-sponsored by the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, the MSU Museum, and the MSU School of Packaging.

- For sixty-two years, Henry Kooiman owned and operated a shoe business in Grand Haven, Michigan. Starting in 1925, he partnered with George Swart and opened a store located at 207 Washington Avenue. Then in 1942, he bought out his partner and renamed the business Kooiman's Footwear. In this interview, he reminisces about his father's business as a merchant during the early 1900s. Henry also talks about his own school years and hobbies, such as flying, bobsledding, raising birds, rabbits, dogs, and horses. He gives details about his many business associates and various businesses that were operating in downtown Grand Haven during the middle twentieth century.

- Author Robert Morris delivers a talk entitled, "'Good and Sufficient Reason to Rebel': Detroit, the Briggs Manufacturing Company, and the People Who Created the UAW." Morris talks about the people of UAW Local 212, including his own father, and their successful efforts to unionize Briggs with the assistance of organizers Emil Mazey and Richard Frankensteen. Morris describes working conditions in the Briggs plant and how the UAW strategized to win contracts. He explains the connections between Briggs and notorious Detroit gangster Santo Perrone, assassination attempts against Walter and Victor Reuther, and a Federal investigation. Morris answers questions from the audience. Morris is introduced by Michigan State University Professor John P. Beck. Part of the "Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives" Brown Bag series co-sponsored by the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, the MSU Museum, and the Motorcities Automobile National Heritage Area. - In an oral history interview, Ed Barton, volunteer curator of the "Changing Men Collection" in the Michigan State University Libraries' Special Collections unit, talks about the history and development of the collection and the men's movement itself. Barton says that the collection began with a donation facilitated by MSU Professor Bruce Curtis and has continued to grow robustly based upon Barton's support and active gathering of conference materials. Barton also outlines the core tenets of the different branches of the men's movement and says that his own involvement in the movement has helped him develop the collection.

- Dr. George Eyster, DVM, describes his forty-four year career in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. Eyster recalls his farm upbringing, his journey to veterinary medicine and MSU, the evolution of the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine and his role in creating one of the strongest veterinary cardiology programs in the country. Eyster also discusses his pioneering work in veterinary medicine, the major changes in the field during his career, his fondness for MSU and his colleagues and the various leadership roles he played during his career. - The Verduin family played an important role in the commercial fishing industry during Grand Haven's early years. In 1901, they commissioned the fishing tug H.J. Dornbos to be built at the Johnston Brothers Shipyard and started doing commercial fishing the next year. Claude served as Mayor of Grand Haven from 1952 to 1956, and at the same time he was Director of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. In this interview, Claude and his son Bob discuss the history of the United States Coast Guard, the naming of Grand Haven as "Coast Guard City, USA," the local Coast Guard training camp, and the evolution of Grand Haven's annual Coast Guard Festival. They also reveal the astonishing history and final destination of the H.J. Dornbos.

- Chris Yarborough, intern for the Christman Company in Lansing, Michigan and a student majoring in Construction Management at MSU, talks about his duties on the project to renovate, restore, and construct new portions of the Snyder-Phillips Halls complex to house the new Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) on the campus of Michigan State University. Yarborough explains the work he does to facilitate the work of the management team and he describes other projects on which he has worked and how he settled on his major. Ends abruptly.

- Dr. Janver D. Krehbiel, DVM, discusses his forty-two year career in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, including his time as acting Dean of the college. Krehbiel describes how he became interested in veterinary medicine as a Kansas farm-boy, his path to MSU, and developing a specialty in clinical pathology. Krehbiel also talks about his role in the evolution of the college, bringing Dr. Steven Arnoczky to MSU, creating the best Veterinary Technology program in the country, and his retirement activities.
