- Color postcard depicting the ice fountain on the median of Washington Boulevard, facing north. Printed on verso: Ice Fountain, Washington Boulevard. One of the unique features of Detroit in winter is the famous ice fountain on Washington Boulevard. Several jets of water are allowed to play all winter, and the result is a massive berg of ice which sometimes reaches a height of nearly thirty feet and contains many tons of crystal. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Feb 21, 1915.

It depicts the ice fountain on the median of Washington Boulevard, north of Michigan Avenue, as viewed from the west side of Washington, facing northeast. A streetlight pole is in the foreground. Several spectators are gathered around the fountain. The Cadillac Hotel is on the right. St. Aloysius Catholic Church is visible beyond the fountain, and the David Whitney Building is in the distance at the left.
