Shops seen in the 300 block of South Washington Avenue: Shaw's Jewelers at 301, Federal Bake Shop at 303, Dutch Mill Bakery at 305, Mary Lee Candies at 307, Singer Sewing Machine at 309, and Hobby Hub at 311 South Washington Avenue. The south side of East Washtenaw Street is also seen in the background, notably Lansing Laundry and Dry Cleaners at 116-122. City Planning Division staff annotated and trimmed the photo.

- Located on the west side of the 100 block of South Washington Avenue. This branch of Kresge's was at 114 South Washington Avenue. Another branch store of Kresge's was at 216 South Washington Avenue. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo.
