- Description:
- The Barnes residence was an example of the Victorian architecture which characterized the elite dwellings of the late nineteenth century. By the 1950s it had fallen into a state of disrepair as seen in this photo, and it was demolished by the City of Lansing for the creation of a parking lot. It stood at the south end of Capitol Avenue on West Main Street.
