The fragments were used as binding material and text is partially unreadable., The first letters of each line are written in capitals, set slightly apart from the line., Two 13th century manuscript fragments of an unrecorded copy of Renaut de Montauban, a Old French chanson de geste telling the story of the four sons of Haymo and their magical horse in their rebellion against Charlemagne. The fragments consist of two narrow strips of parchment cut from the top and bottom of the same bifolium. They contain fewer than 100 lines of the poetic text. The first fragment is the upper portion of the conjoined leaves and the second fragment is the lower portion of the conjoined leaves. The fragments were used as binding material in an sixteenth century French print book. The right margin of each fragment has been cut away, with slight loss of text., The text is written in clear textualis book hand (textualis libraria). Each fragment is written in two columns on each side., and The fragments were used as spine guards recovered from the binding of a sixteenth century French printed book belonging to the H. Remnant of a single red rubric on recto., Small cutting with the remant of Isidore of Seville’s Etymologies, beginning at Liber 2, section 21, on the figures of words and expressions (De figuris verborum et setentiarum). The Etymologies (also called the Origins) is divided into 20 books concerning a subject-area., and 1 column with the remains of 26 lines ruled in dark red ink written in Protogothic script.
