- Sepia-toned albumen photo of the Firemen's Memorial in Elmwood Cemetery. The Memorial consists of a round white stone column (probably marble) that is mounted on an ornate carved, 4-sided white stone base. A carved figure of a fireman, who is shown with a downcast gaze, is standing on top of the column. The front of the base shows a raised carving of a fireman's helmet and the lettering, "Firemen." A planted flower bed occupies the area around the monument base. Also, there are two large flower urns on each side of the monument. Several ornamental fire hydrants are visible in the foreground and gravestones can be seen in the area beyond the flower bed.

- Print. Mounted, sepia-toned photographic print of an event, likely a memorial for Ulysses S. Grant, following his death in 1885, held in Campus Martius around the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. The photo was taken from an elevated position facing southeast. The monument is decorated with banners and flags, and cloths bearing a large letter G which are fastened around the pedestals beneath the eagles. Several people are seated on a stage in front of the monument. A uniformed marching band and a row of uniformed men on horseback are also within a square around the monument circumscribed by a line of men in parade uniforms and helmets. A large crowd spreads outward which consists of well-dressed men (many in boater hats), women, and a few horse carriages. The balconies and windows of the Central Market Building, in the upper left portion of the frame are also packed with spectators, as are the windows of the neighboring building across Cadillac Square at the upper right.

Hendricks" who was "from the front rank of prominent men of this generation." The number, "104," is shown at the top of the certificate. In the lower right corner, the certificate has been dated December 5, 1885, and signed by "Alex. A. Langer, City Clerk." An embossed, gold-colored seal with ribbon has been affixed to the certificate in the lower left corner.

- Howard Dwight Smith, from the American Commission of Living War Memorials, speaks at the dedication of Angell Field at Kalamazoo College on September 19, 1946. Smith speaks about the values of courage, loyalty, and vigor which the field will represent, and declares that it is a fitting memorial for Chester Munson Angell, the World War II veteran for whom the field is named. Smith says that Angell Field is a shining example of the Living Memorials which he hopes will populate the nation.
