Leonard Furniture Company, Wright, Kay, and Company and Michell are destroyed. The photo was taken from an elevated position, across Campus Martius, facing northeast. Monroe Street extends along the right edge of the frame, and Woodward Avenue is at the lower left. A portion of the moonlight tower in front of City Hall rises along the right edge of the frame. A crowd is gathered in Campus Martius. Signs are visible in the background for H.J. Caulkins Detroit and Michigan Dental Depot, and D.M. Ferry and Company Photo is mounted to off-white matting with a textured frame around the image. "Mrs. Catherine McDuff Davies 10/26/33" handwritten on verso.

A Ford Motor Company Billboard is affixed to the top of the Monroe Block advertising, "To the Temple... Watch the Fords Go By!"
