The map is shown at a scale of 1:25,000 and is printed in black ink on white paper. Land areas are colored white and pale yellow. Water areas are colored pale green. The map provides a simple depiction of the islands, bays, and channels in the St. Clair Flats region at the lower end of the St. Clair River. Principal named islands include "Herson [Harsen's] and Stromness [Dickinson] Islands. Named channels include the Snibora, North, Middle, South, and Ship Channels. Small printed text along the South Channel shows the names of principal landowners and establishments such as the Old Club, Star Island Hotel, St. Clair Island Hotel, Joe Bedore's, and Muir's.
