- A group of 13 items (letters, memos, envelopes), mostly correspondence to Chief Alfred Seymour. The group includes a letter from then Vice President Calvin Coolidge thanking him for the police department's assistance when he visited Lansing, and several letters sent to Seymour upon his retirement in 1937.

Dr. Averill received a copy of a resolution on the new Averill School named in his honor at a retirement reception, May 27, 1964.
