Richmond, parties of the first part and Freund & Kast Co., Adolph Freund, Gustavus Kast, S. T------, parties of the second part. The agreement is printed in black text on a sheet of white paper. Blank lines have been completed in handwritten black text. The text indicated that the parties of the first part were leasing rooms in a building located at 183 Jefferson Avenue, to the parties of the second part for two years for a total amount of $400.00. All parties have signed their names at the end of the lease agreement in the presence of two witnesses, "N. North Nay" and "Ignatz Freund."

A ten-cent U.S. Internal Revenue stamp has been affixed to the left side of the note and has black handwritten text that reads "Apr. 6, 1869." The text indicated that Peter Desnoyers was leasing rooms in a building located at 185 Jefferson Avenue to the parties of the second part for four years for a total amount of $2400.00. All parties have signed their names at the end of the lease agreement in the presence of two witnesses, "Harmon DeGraff" and "N. M. Macalister." Two U.S. Internal Revenue stamps have been affixed to the agreement form in the upper left corner in the amounts of five dollars and one dollar. Both stamps feature a red and white engraved design with a bust of George Washington at the center.
