- On verso: Michigan Daily. Press release attached: Harmon Signs Soldier Vote Petition. Lt. Tom Harmon is shown signing a petition presented by Belle Rosenthal, calling for a federal soldier vote bill, before he delivered his lecture (The War Front Reports to the Home Front), Wednesday for the Post-War Council. The petition with signatures collected by various students was telegraphed by Michigan Youth for Democratic Action to Rep. Earl Michener.

- Richard Harrison Bull, architect. Building completed in the summer of 1854. Residence wing for the director added in 1868, expanded in 1905-1906, and finally removed to facilitate the enlargement of Couzens Hall in 1954. East wing, with a larger dome and a more powerful telescope, begun in 1908 and completed in 1909; torn down in 1976. Named "The Detroit Observatory of the University of Michigan" until 1931 when it was changed to "The Observatory of the University of Michigan." In 1999, the name was officially changed to "The University of Michigan Detroit Observatory."

- Albert Kahn Associates, architecture firm. Dedicated on December 4, 1936. Named for Dr. Marion LeRoy Burton, University President from 1920-1925. The carillon in bell chamber was donated in 1935 by Charles Baird, a former athletic director and University graduate of the class of 1895.

- Smith, Hinchman & Grylls Associates, architecture firm. Construction completed in 1910. Originally occupied by the Chemistry Department and College of Pharmacy. In 1949, Louis Kingscott and Associates designed an addition which nearly doubled the total floor space.

- Pond & Pond with Martin & Lloyd, architects. The Michigan League opened on May 4, 1929. To eliminate confusion between the Women's League as an organization and the Michigan League building, the administration of the building and the student organization were combined under the title Michigan League in 1934-35. In 1992, the Michigan League became one of three University Unions. The Lydia Mendelssohn Theater is within the Michigan League.;

- York & Sawyer, architecture firm. Construction begun in 1911, completed 1914. Located on a block between South University Avenue and Tappan Avenue. The Martha Cook Building was erected as a residence for women, a gift of William Wilson Cook ('80) in honor of his mother, Martha Walford Cook. Land to the east of the original building site (the old Condon home) was purchased in 1918 as a garden area.;
