A large image of City Hall is in the center, as viewed from Campus Martius, facing southwest. The McGraw Building behind it is partially visible. Michigan Central Station, identified here as the "M.C.R.R. Union Depot, on the southwest corner of Third Street and West Woodbridge Street is at the upper left in a rectangular frame. Below it, is the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Campus Martius, and the side of the Russell House in the background, framed in a circle. At the upper right, is another rectangular panel, this one depicting the pumping station and tower in Water Works Park. A circle bearing the image of a five story building with a dome-shaped tower, labeled "Y.M.C.A. Building Detroit." "Copyrighted 1887 by Ward Bros. Columbus O." printed in lower right corner.

An isometric view of the laboratory of Frederick Stearns and Company is at the top. At the bottom left is a "view in Grand Circus Park." A woman stands in the path leading to the fountain. Another woman and child sit on the bench to her right. More people are visible in the background behind the fountain. The Palms Building is pictured in the lower left frame. Pedestrians walk along the sidewalk outside of it, while a streetcar pulled by a horse with a rather wide gait, speeds past.

- Halftone monochromatic print of an artistic rendition of a bird's-eye view of Detroit in 1918 on yellow paper. The caption above the image reads, "One Hundred Years of Progress, Detroit 1918-Same Area As View Above." Below the image, "What Detroit has accomplished in the past, is the best evidence of its future prosperity" is printed. The pictured print depicts downtown Detroit, and areas to the west, rough from Fourth Street to Raynor Street, and State Street to the Detroit River. - Color print of a water color painting titled "A View of Detroit and the Straits, taken from the Huron Church June 22nd, 1804" by Edward Walsh. Hand written text underneath the title reads "Here the Americans first landed to invade Upper Canada. The Straits are three miles across. General Brock returned the compliment & took Detroit," referencing the siege of Detroit by British General Isaac Brock during the War of 1812. The view depicts Detroit from the Canadian shore. On the Canadian side, in the foreground, can be seen the Huron Church and small settlements, along with a horse drawn carriage and a man on horseback riding along a dirt trail on the left side. Across the straits, in the background, can be seen Fort Detroit, with several ships and a large American flag visible.

- Mounted enlargement of a black and white print depicting a north-facing view from the intersection of Griswold Street and Jefferson Avenue (as indicated on verso) in 1837, taken from page 457 of Silas Farmer's History of Detroit and Wayne County and Early Michigan. A horse-drawn wagon, pedestrians, and dogs are in the streets. Several storefronts have been given legible signs: "F. and C.H. Buhl," " McCormick and Moon, Hats and Caps," St. Paul's Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Ste. Anne's Catholic Church are all visible in the background. "Copyright 1883 by Silas Farmer" printed in lower left corner. An illegible signature, presumably that of the artist William A. Raymond, is printed at the lower right. Image is mounted on heavy green cardstock.

Pages 660-661 contain a composite print of eight illustrations of Detroit, titled "The City of Detroit and Its surroundings," drawn by Charles Graham. The captions for the eight drawings are as follows: 1. The Market, from City Hall. 2. The Grand Circus. 3. The Bagley Fountain. 4. The River with Revenue-Cutter at Anchor. 5. Old Block-House on Grosse Isle. 6. Grosse Isle. 7. Lumber Tow. 8. Excursion to Belle Isle. The opposite side of the sheet, containing pages 659 and 662, contains a portion of a story, "A Hazard of New Fortunes," by William Dean Howells, a poem, "The Enchanted Wood," by Flavel Scott Mines," a map of Alaska, and an article, "The Behring Sea Dispute."
