On the back of the photograph: "The Civil Air Patrol was organized in Lansing right after Pearl harbor and was active in Civil duties and preliminary Army and Air Corps indoctrination of young men before going into regular service. The C. A. P. was an Army Air Corps auxiliary. Lt. Murton and Lt. Dalrymple are shown in the photo at right, front row, with other members of the C. A. P."
