- July 1, 1949 photo of the American Legion Post No. 282 covered wagon, as part of a overland trip from Detroit to Ypsilanti to commemorate the first celebration of the Fourth of July in Ypsilanti 125 years before in 1824. The photograph was taken in Dearborn, MI with some members of the Ford Motor American Legion Post there. Ypsilanti residents in the photo include the following: (on the wagon seat) Joseph Warner (?-1978), representative to the state legislature and Matt Max (1877-1951), former Ypsilanti mayor and postmaster; (in front) James Hart (1877-1951) and R. Boomer; and (behind Boomer) Joe Samonek.
