- "Birth Records were kept at the Township Hall until the 1950s. All births in the township were registered with the Township Clerk. At the end of each month, the clerk filed that months births with the clerk of the county. I did not copy after 1917 as I felt it infringed upon the privacy of those born after 1918." The original data was transcribed by Sally Cieslik in 1987.

- "Found in the back of the book used for the annual meetings in Avon. A long sheet of paper approx. 5" x 60" very evident of different handwriting and several pieces of paper glued together. Research has shown that neighbors are listed together. For this reason this list has not been alphabetized. Heading at top of paper NAMES OF THOSE LIABLE TO DO MILITARY DUTY IN AVON at the end of list: The above filed with Town Clerk May 9, 1846" The original data was transcribed by Sally Cieslik in 1987.
