- A woman at a desk in an insurance office. On the door behind her is an 1898 calendar, and framed insurance company signs are on the walls of the office. The 1898 Lansing City Directory lists a Minnie Thomas, stenographer at the C. L. Hecox insurance agency which was located on the fifth floor of the Hollister building. That same year, Harriet (Hattie) Lawrence was listed as a stenographer working on the same floor of the building for a different, unnamed agency. Note on sleeve: "No. 78. Oct. 15, 1898. Opr. Hattie. Time 4 secs."
