- The Bollman truss span was designed by engineer Wendel Bollman in 1852 that allowed the use of iron for bridges rather than wood, and was adopted for many railroad bridges.

- Also known as the Kingsley Bridge, the Martin's Creek Viaduct was built from 1912 to 1914 by the F. M. Talbot Co. for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. It is similar in appearance to the Tunkhannock Viaduct which was also built for the D.L. &W. R.R.

- Built for the Oregon Trunk Railway, at 320 feet above the river it was the highest arch bridge in the U.S. at the time.

- The Kansas City Terminal Railway was built to serve the transportation needs of Kansas City. Construction began after 1903 and the railway is still in use today.
