- Print. Sepia-toned photographic print with "Detroit Detectives and detectives from other cities at Elks' Convention in Detroit, 1910, Capt. McDonald" handwritten on verso. The detectives pose on the stairway outside of the Police Headquarters on Bates Street and Farmer Street. The majority are dressed in coats, ties, and boater hats. A smaller group of similarly dressed men are visibly leaning on an iron railing at the upper right. Photo is mounted on heavy cardstock.

- Single page from Ballou's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion, dated November 11, 1856, pgs. 281-282. Page 281 features three Detroit-related etchings. The etching on the top left depicts a Post Office on Woodward Avenue, with pedestrians walking on the sidewalk and a horse drawn carriage in the street. The etching in the center on the right depicts St. Ann's Church at the corner of Larned and Bates Street, with a woman and child walking along the sidewalk and a child playing with a dog in the street. The etching on the bottom left depicts Odd Fellow's Hall on Woodward Avenue, with grocery, drug, and hardware stores also depicted. The verso, page 282, contains a poem titled "A Memory," by Eliza F. Moriarty, and a story titled "Too Miserable by Half," by Herbert Linton.

- Sepia-toned black and white photo showing a front corner view of the Fireman's Hall. The photo shows a 2-story painted brick building with a short steeple A sign on the front over the second-floor windows shows "1839, Firemen's Hall." The front of the hall faces on Bates Street as indicated by the street sign that can be seen on the side of the building near the corner. The ground floor has three shops and, presumably, the hall was located on the second floor. Shops on the ground floor include: "Chas. R. Brand, House & Sign Painting" and "J. W. Ezekiel, Auction & Commission" and "C. Govin. Merchant Tailor." A typewritten label on the verso shows "First Firemen's Hall, 1939. Larned St. East between Bates St. and Woodward." An ink stamp on the verso shows "Photograph by The Detroit News, Not to be Published."

- Print containing six engravings, taken from the booklet, Souvenir of Detroit & Exposition, depicting locations in Detroit, spread across two leafs. The long image at the top right is a scene, captioned, "Detroit harbor showing water front of city and character of shipping." Several dock workers move bags and barrels at the bottom, while in the background, sailing ships and steamships travel along the river. Below, another long panel depicts a north-facing view of Woodward Avenue, extending from Campus Martius. Shops on the corner of Michigan Avenue, and Woodward Avenue, including Hudson and Symington are depicted. The Opera House is also pictured, housing J.L. Hudson's. An optician, Hull Brothers Family Groceries, and Chas. A. Werner Glassware are depicted as well. Several moonlight towers are visible in the distance. Harper Hospital is in the topmost of the three panels, arranged vertically on the far right. Below are the police headquarters at Bates Street and Farmer Street and the house of correction at the present site of Eastern Market.

- Black and white photographic print depicting several buildings along the north side of Cadillac Square, as well as the Wayne County Building in the distance. Taken near Bates Street on the opposite end of Cadillac Square, facing northeast. The Burns Motel, a cafe, the Garland, Schroeder Paint and Glass Company, and Hotel Wobrock are along the businesses along Cadillac Square. Pedestrians, several brass-era automobiles, and electric streetcars are in the street. The photo appears to have been produced from an earlier photo as its rough edges are in frame. "37 North side Cadillac Square second block from Woodward looking east April 29,1910" handwritten on verso. "Burton Historical Collection, Glass Negative 2766" on verso.
