- Print. Sepia-toned photographic print with "Detroit Detectives and detectives from other cities at Elks' Convention in Detroit, 1910, Capt. McDonald" handwritten on verso. The detectives pose on the stairway outside of the Police Headquarters on Bates Street and Farmer Street. The majority are dressed in coats, ties, and boater hats. A smaller group of similarly dressed men are visibly leaning on an iron railing at the upper right. Photo is mounted on heavy cardstock.

- Sepia-toned black and white photo showing a front corner view of the Fireman's Hall. The photo shows a 2-story painted brick building with a short steeple A sign on the front over the second-floor windows shows "1839, Firemen's Hall." The front of the hall faces on Bates Street as indicated by the street sign that can be seen on the side of the building near the corner. The ground floor has three shops and, presumably, the hall was located on the second floor. Shops on the ground floor include: "Chas. R. Brand, House & Sign Painting" and "J. W. Ezekiel, Auction & Commission" and "C. Govin. Merchant Tailor." A typewritten label on the verso shows "First Firemen's Hall, 1939. Larned St. East between Bates St. and Woodward." An ink stamp on the verso shows "Photograph by The Detroit News, Not to be Published."

- Black and white photographic print depicting several buildings along the north side of Cadillac Square, as well as the Wayne County Building in the distance. Taken near Bates Street on the opposite end of Cadillac Square, facing northeast. The Burns Motel, a cafe, the Garland, Schroeder Paint and Glass Company, and Hotel Wobrock are along the businesses along Cadillac Square. Pedestrians, several brass-era automobiles, and electric streetcars are in the street. The photo appears to have been produced from an earlier photo as its rough edges are in frame. "37 North side Cadillac Square second block from Woodward looking east April 29,1910" handwritten on verso. "Burton Historical Collection, Glass Negative 2766" on verso.
