- Appears to have been taken from the Commerce Center Building at South Capitol Avenue and West Washtenaw Street. Beyond the park can be seen the Capitol Park Motor Hotel on Lenawee and Townsend Streets and the Young Men's Christian Association. The roof level of the municipal parking ramp at 316 South Capitol Avenue is in the foreground. The Board of Water and Light's Eckert Power Station is in the background with its seven smokestacks, behind the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors Corporation.

- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. - The Masonic lodge located at 213 South Capitol Avenue. It was built in 1905, and in 1927 a new building was built next to it for the Masons. It was later known as the Veterans Memorial building and was torn down in the 1950s.
