- Description:
- Print. Black and white photographic print of The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store under construction on Woodward Avenue. The construction occurring is joining the two Hudson's buildings together where Himelhoch's Department Store was once located. A series of intricate scaffolding is visible atop the sidewalk and in front of the structure. Automobiles are parked along Woodward Avenue in front of Hudson's, and The Newcomb-Endicott Company in the background. The date, and photographic sequence number are printed on the bottom of the recto, "Aug - 20 - 23; 55803." Also, the name of the photography studio, and their geographic location are embossed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit."

- Print. Black and white photographic print, taken from an elevated vantage point features the enormous Smith, Hinchman and Grylls addition to The J.L. Hudson Company Building, under construction on Woodward Avenue. A series of automobiles are visible parked in the street below. Pedestrians are visible admiring the construction from the opposing sidewalk. Construction workers are also visible at the foot of the building. The name of the photography studio, and geographic location are embossed on the bottom of the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit." Also, the date is hand-written on the verso, "6-29-25."

- Sepia-toned photograph depicting the elevator launch and pit at the at the Ford Rouge Factory Complex. View of Elevator Launch and Pit. The elevator construction is now complete, and water is being pumped from the Rouge River through a long pipe to fill the pit. When filled, the earthen berm separating the pit from the river will be removed. A rail-mounted crane with its boom extended is near the launch tower. - Black and white photo of the eastern side of one of the floors inside the Edison Building on the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street, taken during its conversion from the Edison Illuminating Company's Station A to the company's offices. An arch-shaped portion of a continuous current generator is in the center of frame. Ladders, rope, crates, and tools are scattered around it. A platform for an overhead rolling system is near the upper right corner of frame. "State St. Sta. E. Wall," and "M-4456 7-3-16." are printed along the bottom edge of the image.
