- Description:
- Black and white photographic print depicting the inside of the Dressler Kiln at the Champion Spark Plug Co. Caption on verso reads: Taken by the Carborundum Company 9-20-1921 - Showing interior of Dressler Kiln (The kiln had been in service for seven months - 2-4-1921 to 9-7-1921). This is a detail of the damper box walls shown in photograph #43501. They are under quite a lot more heat at the right hand side than at the left. Probably a difference of three or four cones, those on the right hand, however, being constantly at a temperature which would melt cone 18 on the passing cars; also being under a slightly reducing temperature, while the brick at the left hand are only exposed a greater part of the time to pure air, particularly on the upper left hand corner.
