- Annotations by City Planning staff mark anchor stores and identify several ground-level photos cataloged in following records (D29, D34 and D35). The other views were not found in the collection received. The photo is oriented with West up. The views identified look generally around the center of the parking lot.

- The Knapp's building was "Knapp's Office Centre" from the 1980s to about 2000. The parking attendant booth is at Washtenaw Street end of the 200 block of South Washington Avenue, it was removed in 1989. Although the J. C. Penney department store building can been seen, no other stores are identifiable in the photo and it is unlikely that Penney's was still in operation at the time of the photo.
