- An interdisciplinary panel composed of Michigan State University faculty participates in a discussion entitled, "Looking at Flint : the past, present, and future of the city". Panelists describe their research, teaching and writing efforts and explore the current challenges faced by the citizens of Flint, especially the condition of the municipal water system, and the many economic, education, and health issues facing them. Panelists are Mary Schulz of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Debra Furr-Holden, professor of Human Medicine, Rick Sadler, professor of Human Medicine, Manuel Chavez, professor of Journalism, and Trixie Smith, of the MSU Writing Center. Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore, dean of the MSU Honors College, convenes the session and moderates questions from the audience.
