- Black and white photo taken looking south on Woodward Avenue in Highland Park. Otto's Confectionary stands on the east side of the street. Walker and Company advertisements for Peter Otto, Contractor and Detroit Creamery Milk are painted on the side of the building. To the south of Otto's is a cloth tent supported by several posts, painted with, "The Scenic Cream Parlor 4046, Cream, Sandwiches, Cigars, Hot Drinks." Cars pass along Woodward and streetcar tracks run along the west side of the street. The smoke stacks and water tower of the Ford Highland Park Plant's power house are visible in the distance along Woodward. "Oct-2-16," is printed in the lower left corner. "Smith Brothers, Commercial Photographers, Arcadia Bldg - Woodward & Stimson, Detroit, Michigan," is stamped, and "October 2, 1916, Woodward Avenue looking south in Highland Park," is typewritten on a label tapped to the verso.

- Black and white photo of City Hall and the Majestic Building as taken from a window of the Russell House to the southeast. Woodmere, Brush, and Woodward line streetcars are in Campus Martius, including cars 386 and 290. A horse-drawn cart carrying several large potted ferns is on Ford Street beside City Hall's lawn. Several horse-drawn carriages are on Woodward in front of City Hall. A man in a white suit picks up horse droppings in the intersection of Woodward and Ford using a large scoop and a shovel. A moonlight tower stands on the south corner of Woodward and Michigan Avenue. Signs for C.A. Shafer are posted on the side of the Majestic Building. A mimeographed caption is on the verso, along with an impression of a photo of William C. Maybury: This picture was taken in the central business portion of the city of Detroit from a window of a hotel known as the Russell House.. The hotel is situated on the South East corner of Woodward Avenue and Cadillac Square. The photograph is made from a negative taken in the fall of 1900 and is a fairly good representation of exterior photography, at this date. The photograph was made by C.M. Hayes and Co., a firm engaged in general photography.

- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. A triumphal arch has been erected over Woodward Avenue, between John R Street and Witherell Street with several flags displayed on top and on both its piers. A pair of streetcar tracks extend from the camera toward the horizon, and a horse-drawn streetcar passes under the arch, approaching the camera. The buildings along Woodward, including the store of C.W. Maynard, Druggist, are draped with flags and striped banners. "Woodward Ave. Detroit. Arch erected for G.A.R. meet there. City crowded. I'm Lisbon, Ohio, returned to Detroit right after this reunion of Grand Army of the Republic (Civil War veterans)" handwritten on verso.

Trickery Grocery, O'Neill Hoffner Washington Market, La Childs Restaurant, and in the distance is the Elliott Taylor Woolfenden Company.
