Karanis; Textiles; Wool; undecorated

Notes:

Fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric that has been folded and sewn along two adjacent edges. A small piece of fabric with yellow warp and weft and several bands of purple weft has been sewn to the fragment. The main part of this small piece is 4 cm x 3 cm. There are other much smaller fragments caught in other stitches. There is one small slit tapestry linen rectangle at the edges of a yellowed band and a purple band. The linen rectangle goes over two warps and has four picks.
