Simons Dry Goods Store

Description:

The photograph is dated 1857, but an article in the Lansing State Journal in 1911 states that the business was established in 1860, and not formally incorporated until 1901. B. F. Simons Sr. founded it, and his sons B. F. Jr. and Howard A. operated it into the 20th century. The photograph was probably taken sometime around 1900.
