Description:
Photograph (and 1 copy). Sepia-toned photo showing the temporary concrete mixing plant for the construction of a railroad bridge over the Rouge River. Printed text in the upper left corner of the photo shows the number, "17," and "M.C.R.R. River Rouge Bascule Bridge; Foundations; Mixing Plant; June 11, 1919. [W. B.] James Photo." Two workmen are standing near the concrete mixer on the left side of the plant. The concrete mixer is positioned in order to pour the finished mixture into a second construction crane bucket that will carry the concrete to its placement location. Railroad tracks and construction materials can be seen in the foreground and a factory building can be seen in the right background. The banks of the Rouge River can be seen in the left background area of the photo.
