2nd-3rd C. A.D. Loop missing. Nude boy, facing front as he lunges to side with weight on left leg, holds trumpet out to side with right arm, and bears long, elliptical shield with central lengthwise rib. Jug sits by left leg under shield. Oval face with thick bar-like lips. thick lids, and broad nose. Wears polos (spout) on top of double row of large snail curls which cross head. High trapezoidal base represented in front plane only. Back rounded and unindicated. Loop for suspension upper rearside. Reddish brown clay (Muns. 5 yr 5/3) moulded hollow and sealed at sides. Bottom plugged a quarter of the lenght up. Traces of paint. Wilfong: Flask in the shape of a Military trumpeter. Clay; paint.
