Banks, associate provost and associate vice president for academic human resources, and professor emeritus of the James Madison College at Michigan State University, continues his discussion of the MSU Faculty Grievance Office and the grievance process. Banks talks about how the process evolved and how it filled a gap allowing for the resolution of issues that might have been filled by a faculty union, the people who served as grievance officer over the years, the role of the MSU President, the dissemination of FGO decisions, the appeals process, the need to have a set of uniform standards for handling grievances, and confidentiality.
