Description:
Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing the old railroad swing bridge over the Rouge River being removed. The view looks northwestward (upstream) along the Rouge River and shows the old railroad swing bridge being loaded on barges so that it can be towed away by the tugboat, Samuel J. Dark. Many workmen and spectators are standing on the old bridge or on the barges. The new bascule bridge is not visible in this photo, but it is located to the right of the old bridge.
