One accounting report for "Messrs.[?] Richmond & Backus." The report is handwritten in black ink on a sheet of white linen ledger paper that has light blue lines and columns. It lists dates, items, and costs and is signed near the lower right corner: "Rec. Payt., B. Vernor, --. J. Vernier." A two-cent U.S. Internal Revenue stamp has been affixed to the lower left corner of the page and is dated "Aug. 24, 1870," in black handwritten text. The stamp features a red and white engraved design with a bust of George Washington at the center.
