Description:

This collection consists primarily of materials related to a complaint and lawsuit filed against the Ingham Intermediate School District in 1975. Also found are minutes from the Development of Learning Abilities Steering Committee, samples of educational materials, an Ingham ISD parent handbook on special education, Lansing School District report and summary on special education in the district, and an essay on the history of the MACLD by Joyce Laing. The Michigan chapter of the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities eventually became part of the Learning Disabilities Association of America, and the state chapter is known as the LDA of Michigan.
