Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired)

Notes:

Hard red micaceous clay; highly polished. End of nozzle missing. Groove down center of neck and air hole in groove. Plain sloping rim with solid knobs on either side (one broken) . Raised ridge about plain depressed discus with central filling hole and air hole at base of nozzle. No handle. Base set off by three circular grooves with which is stamped in good raised letters, FORTIS, and below is wreath and palm branch in relief.
