Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:

Fragment of woven wool fabric with brown bands (shaded stripes?), a section of tapestry in one corner, a 2-ply warp and a ribbed selvedge. The brown band section is 6 cm wide and has some tapestry patterning using the browns and some yellow weft. A yellow weft band is from 3 cm to 5.5 cm wide. A tapestry section is in one corner of the yellow band. Eccentric wefts cause the tapestry to be at a slight angle from this band. Some of the weft is so tightly twisted that it is kinked.
