Crowd in the Street

Description:

A large group of unidentified people in a dirt road with streetcar tracks. Some of the men pictured are holding musical instruments, including one with a bass drum which reads "Prince's Military Band, Lansing." In the background at left can be seen the Emily A. Atkins Bazaar, at 315 East Franklin Street (now Grand River Avenue). The location is North Lansing. The attached photograph is a copy of the original which is severely damaged. Both are in the Local History Collection.
