- View of the Detroit Free Press building designed by architect, Albert Kahn located on Lafayette Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan. "In 1923 Kahn built a new headquarters for the Detroit Free Press ... since rental space was included in the building, it was of necessity larger than the News building, hence steel construction was preferable to the bulkier reinforced concrete, but the same use of monumental limestone on the exterior was continued, a new element may be noted, however, in the massing of the building in a central thirteen-story tower with lower six-story wings," from "The Buildings of Detroit: A History," by W.
